Off brand South American Bikes reviews? AKT? Qingqi? Keeway?

I will be riding though South America starting in Colombia in January. Because I will be buying and selling the bike during the trip I am looking for the cheapest bikes possible.

There are three that I am potentially interested in:

Keeway TX200: Keeway Colombia - TX 200 ENDURO

AKT 250 Adventure: TT 250 | Adventour | AKT Motos

Qinqi qmr200 or qmr 250 : (Can't find a good link which makes me nervous)


Because the maximum length of my trip is something like 7000 miles, I'm less concerned with build quality than I am with parts availability. I would assume most bikes are capable of putting out 7000 miles but I would expect some things to break on a cheaper bike so if I can't get parts for this bike in peru, bolivia or argentina, then I am screwed.

For that reason, I am really interested if anyone has information regarding how these bikes are analagous to more popular bikes, especially in terms of parts being interchangeable. My friend mentioned that he thinks the qinqi qm series use an engine which is an exact clone of a suzuki dr200, and if that was the case, I know parts would be available anywhere.

Bought a Sumo Tekker 250 second hand but refurbished. done 7000 km in just over a month. So far no problems, change the oil every 2000km, chain maintenance and try and keep below 5000 rpm. Very comfortable and great so far in the dirt and mountains of Peru and Ecuador. Changed the clutch as a precaution at 5000km and new brake pads ( cost $40). I aslo put on wide pegs and alum handlebars.

Run a usb plug for my Garmin Nuvi 57 and have 70/30 tyres, Can cruise at 80/90 no problems - but happy at 70kph. Getting 100kpgallon.

Met a number of other bikers on chino motos and all say good things but all are fastidious about maintenance. I have a Loncin engine which is a Honda 250 clone - you can swap parts apparently but not tried.

Sounds really nice. I'd love to hit the 250 range instead of a 200. I feel like just that little bit of extra kick will make it a lot more manageable on extended road rides and hopefully help keep the revs lower.

How did you figure out that that engine is a honda clone? Do you know specifically which one? If I could know that they were 1:1 and then be able to get service manuals and stuff like that from honda that would make me feel wayyy better about buying chinese...
