Perito Moreno, ARG; Place to stay?

Hola all
It looks like I'm going to be in PM (the town on Ruta 40, not the glacier) for a while waiting for a CDI unit (assuming the bike makes it there). Anyone stayed there for any length of time? Any recommendations???

Cheers

Perito Moreno

There is a nice municipal campground right in the centre of town. They also have bunk beds in small wooden cabins. There are three hotels but I doubt if they can take bikes inside.

I would go for the campground.

Cheers,

Noel

Camping

We were there a few weeks ago, Not sure of your budget but the cheapest by far is the Mini Camp in the town centre, small grass area, 10 pesos PP. Hot water and outside kitchen area. Owner very friendly. The tourist information has a list of all the accommodation and prices, they can also tell you where the best supermarket is as the ones on the main street are more expensive. We heard a few moans about the municipal campsite, but didn“t stay there as it was dusty and windy.

campsite

The campsite in the town centre is the Municipal Campsite, at least that is what the sign said when I was there 2 weeks ago. There was a nice green lawn and cabins too so I think we are talking about the same campground.
:Beach:

Minicamping Raul. Camping municipial just didn't felt safe and nice in Perito Moreno.

We ended up staying whole week in Camping Raul - Raul (the owner) is just a fantastic person if you get to know him IMHO! Locals think he's crazy (in a good way), but I reckon he's just so different to any argentinian - he's just so positive and enthusiastic! Helped us sorting some problems and we run from workshop-to-worksop half a day with him, he didn't charge anything, even if I "forced" him to take some money. He even made food for us in the morning.

So thumbs up for Camping Raul from us :thumbup1:
