quito customs help (alluda de aduana)
 

I need a customs contact help in Quito to help getting the bikes from Customs (Aduana) flying them to Airport from USA any recommendations? will be there mid November 2007:helpsmilie:

Hi,
to get the bike out of Quito customs is a pain in the ass. And expensive. It took us 3 days, a lot of waiting around customs and 50 USD per bike to get it out. We used an agent around the buildings, they are looking to sell their work. And then they tried to rip us off (wanted 150 USD per bike). Agree the price upfront... There is a guy in Quito I think his name is Ricardo Rocco (of the Equadorian Community -pls check with Grant J) and he can also give you good advice. He said 50 Bucks is a fair price...

I send a couple of e-mails to Ricardo well known guy not a pleasure yet, but no response so far, 50 bucks fair price and willing, hoe can I get Grant J?:confused1:

If you still need help pm I have the card from the owner of a large motorcycle importer in Quito who I met in Quito.

Ricardo does not always respond immediately because he travels a lot but he will reply. If you are in Quito you can just go to his house and ask them to call (his office is in the house) him if you really need help soon.
