Road Condition Peru- Inapari to Cuzco B317?
 

Hi fellow riders. I will be coming from Porto Velho and hear that the road is ashfalted all the way to the Peru border (Inapari) is this correct?

I am heading to Cuzco and would like to know if the road to Cuzco from Inapari is ashfalted?

From Porto Velho to the border it is with many potholes here and there ( May 2012), but from the border to Cuzco is perfect asphalt and is one of the most beautiful roads in south america !

Rode it in 2007 when they were making it (Inapari to Cuzco) into a highway. It was fun then... seems like it would be booorrriiing now!

Brazil side is paved, but watch out for the potholes!!:oops2:
Leave VERY early from Porto Velho. Gas is scarce and the Rio Abuna crossing takes FOREVER!! You will get in late to Rio Branco.

Yes, compared to then it is! I rode it in 2001, took me 1 week from Iñapari to Cusco, now 1,5 day. On the otrher hand one can enjoy the scenery more now and that is beautiful, and the difference of the two countries seems more like two worlds is stunning. A kind of modern, white and flat Brazil and the indian high mountain culture where it seems time stood still.
There is a roadside restaurant, Panelão Minero, very friendly owners, where you may camp. About one hour before you get to Rio Branco (coming from PV) : S9 59.943 W67 11.563

I hope to make Rio Branco tommorow and be in Cusco in a few days . any one about wanting to meet up for a few bier???
