Santa Cruz de la Sierra to Corumber & Campo Grande
 

I´m in Uyuni and want to head north to Santa Cruz then east to Corumber & Campo Grande. I am running late and am cocerned the wet has hit already and the road may be shite.

Has anyone been through recently enough to share some info.

Arno and Sian did this road (Corumba to Santa Cruz)in August 2003 and descripted it as death road. After their advice I took the train.

Thanks for the replies. Hacing read everything I can on HU about the road ther train seems the only way, and based on the effect the train had on my bike the other day bypassing mud from Rio Grande to Uyuni I´ve decided to head south then east....... Thx.

Hi, did this strectch in may2005. The road isn´t as bad as in 2003 anymore(and not to be compared the first time I ´drove´ it in 1986..)and in dry season well possible. Some sandy strechtes around Robere only. But stay away when it rains(probably now...) as there is lots of clay too after km 600
