Searching for a place to stay - Brazil Rio Worldcup
 

Hi there!

My Name is Martin Leonhardt and I am on a motorbike worldtrip since 8months. Right now I am in Asuncion Paraguay. I am waiting for the big 30000 service done on my KTM 1190.

On Monday or Tuesday I will finaly continue. I want to drive straight to Rio de Janeiro for the Wordlcup and maybe some other adventures. But well - it's kind of impossible to find a place to stay - furthermore is it even more complicated to find a good save parking for the bike.. Well - I guess most of you know this problem...

That's why I am writing here. Is there anyone of my biking fellows around in Rio that can offer me a place to sleep? Or has at least a recommendation....

This would make things for me so so much easier...

I am still lost! Searching for Hostels, Hotels, Couchsurfing etc.. since three days...

Looks like impossible to go there....

I stayed in Rio about 2 weeks ago (also during the World Cup). It's possible but all the hostels are charging really high prices right now due to the demand.

I stayed at the Lagoa Guest House. It's a good hostel with secure parking onsite. I was paying $R200/night. I recommend you make a reservation 2-3 days in advance before arriving.

danke - da schau ich auch noch vorbei! Mittlerweile hab ich nen Campingplatz und eine Couchsurfing Möglichkeit gefunden. Aber leider nur auf Zeit für die ersten Tage. Wegen der Spiele zum Ende der WM um Rio und Sao Paulo scheint mir nochmal mehr los zu sein als zu Beginn..

thx - I will have a look. Meanwhile I found a campsite and a couchsurfing possibility. But just for a few days. Becauso the last games are taking place close to Brazil and Sao Paulo - it seems to be more crowded right now...

I am leaving Fox de Iquazu in any minute. I think I will not make it that far today... And tomorrow I want to be in Rio... ;-(
