Shipping Bike From Ushuaia To USA - OR -???
 

I am in Ushaia and am seeking information on shipping directly out of Ushaia vs riding to BA. So far I think I have learned that you may need to pay for an complete 20 ft container that probably could hold at least 5 bikes.

With at least 3 bikes it may be cheaper than shipping out of BA by sea which I am told would be about $1100.00 to Miami plus some paperwork fees.

If you are going to be in Ushuaia in the next few days and are interested in sharing a container please let me know - OR - if you have specific knowledge about shipping back to the US from Argentina or Chile by SEA or Air please let me know.

Just Got Quote of $3000 USD For 20 ft Container
 

I just returned from Port Agents Tamic S.A. and soke to Marcelo who quoted me approximately $3000.00 USD for a complete 20 ft container from Ushuaia to Miami. Unless the actual cost increases it looks like 3 bikes would make it worthwhile and more would be even better.

Anyone who has recently shipped out of BA or Santiago let me know what it really costs there.

I have been told by knowledgable folks that if you do a little dissassembly and crate the bike smaller you can get air shipped out of BA for around $700. So if you have done it lately let me know, thanks.
