Shipping into Colombia

Hey Everybody,

I hope this finds you all well and enjoying your travels.

I'm just wondering if anyone has shipped into Cartagena or any of the northern Colombian ports lately?

I'm hoping you can tell me if it was relatively easy to get a Temporary Import Order and what sort of port charges you paid.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Ride safe.

Shipping into Colombia

Hi Malcolm,

I just temporarily imported my bike into Colombia two weeks ago at the Bogota airport. I know you are talking about sea ports but I thought I'd give you the info. The cost was just a bit over $40 and it took two hours (not including uncrating and re-building). Good luck to you.

Hey Gord did you post anything in the shipping thread.

I'm interested in how you shipped your bike to Bogota? I assume you shipped from Canada...

Would love to hear the details and experience with the shipper.

We shipped from England about 3 months ago. Just the shipping wasn`t too expensive but all the port charges was. In total port charges was about 550 USD. It was still much cheaper than to ship it by air.
All the procedure takes about 2 days and you have to go to few places. If you know a little spanish it shouldn`t be a problem. I didn`t speak any spanish and I was able to do it. Good luck!!!

Thanks to everyone for their reply's, its most appreciated.

Can I ask Alidudek did you do it all by yourself? No need for a customs broker? Which port did you come into?

Thanks for you help,

Malcolm
