Shipping the bike to Brasil
any recent shipping the state to Brasil , I am trying to plan a trip from manaus or belem .
Thanks |
I recently shipped my bike out of Rio de Janeiro to Denver, Colorado using James Cargo Service. The local agents were very thorough in dealing with the labyrinthine Brazilian legal system. So far it is boxed, fumigated and has cleared customs.
James Cargo Services IATA, AATA, IPATA and DEFRA approved Cargo Agent I haven't fully formed an opinion yet as the bike has yet to arrive. You might also consider shipping to Buenos Aires |
Brasil shipping
Thanks for the tip, I have to ship the bike from USA to Brasil and then back to the US . I will check your shipping company , I am in Florida so I will also try some shipping company from here but I am open to send it from anywhere to pretty much anywhere in Brasil.

We shipped 2 bikes to Miami from Manaus in March '08. They ended up on a LAN cargo plane, but our freight company was ABSA. There are direct flights from Manaus to Miami.

Shippin from and to Brasil
How much was the cost of shipping
Thanks |
It wasn't pretty
350 Reals Agent in Manaus
100 Reals Crating in Manaus 100 Reals Truck to Manaus Airport 1063 USD Freight charges, Dangerous goods fee, Fuel surcharge, etc... 250 USD Some BS "Terminal Charge" in Miami (couldn't get out of it) The crate was free from a moto shop in Manaus. I might have left something out, but those are most of it. |
Following up...The bike has finally arrived here in Colorado from Brazil !
It was about 2 weeks late and I did have to have a knock down drag out argument with James Cargo about an unexpected rate hike (we stayed with the original quoted rate). Overall I am mostly happy, although be warned that flying the machine to Brazil is something of a hassle. I spent 2 weeks in Copacabana doing paperwork and arranging shipment to the US. Since I am allergic to sunshine, caipirinhas, g-strings and breathtakingly beautiful women who have never heard of Gloria Steinem, it was quite the trama. |
Hi Hendi!
Imagine, everyone is only talking about shipping FROM Brazil. So Avoid shipping TO Brazil, it is a nightmare. Ship to any other neigbouring country instead and drive overland to Brazil it will save you time, money and your nerves (brazilian landborders are strangely about the easiest of all of the americas |

Don't ship your bike to Brazil
I shipped my bike from Dubai to Sao Paulo, Brazil on April 2008. It took 9 days to clear the bike from airport customs. I spent almost 900USD to clear the bike. Lot of paperwork, attestation of documents and unfriendly customs officials. The early bitterness spoiled my entire trip.:funmeterno::thumbdown:
