Short motorcycle trips from Punta Arenas, Chile
Hi all,
After trekking in Patagonia, I will have about 3-4 days in Punta Arenas left in my trip. After renting an XR250 in Cusco and riding around the Sacred Valley for a couple days, I'm hooked on motorcycle touring and would like to do the same in Punta Arenas, if possible. 1. I've found from this forum that there is a shop called Motoescar at Carrera 666 that may rent motorcycles. I could not find a website, though. Does anyone know the rates, and if things like helmets and saddlebags are included or extra cost? 2. With only 3-4 days, I won't have much time, so I'm not even sure if it is worth doing. All the trip itineraries I see are for long rides of over a week to far away destinations. Does anyone know of a good itinerary for 3-4 days, or are destinations there too far apart? Would riding to Torres Del Paine National Park and back, including a day of riding within the park, be worth it? I'm guessing Ushuaia would be too far away for so little time, correct? Thanks! I met Gonzalo of motoescar in january 2012 when I was traelling in my bike and my rear shock blew. He was very nice and fixed my shock but he told me that he will leave the motorcycle business. I will try to find his cell phone for you
