Snow chains in South America for 4x4!!!
 
Will be shipping to Chile and then heading through Bolivia, Peru, Ecquador, etc, etc to North America. What time of year would it be expected that we may need snow chains, if at all. It's just that there so damn heavy!

I got caught in snow today in Potosi and wasn't prepard since it is summer! A 4x4 would have made it without chains though. Sure was rough on a BMW without waterproof gloves.

Chains not needed
 
Chains are not neededin the Andes of Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia! It only snows above 15,000 ft and never much. All you need is a good set of tires. It's too close to the equator and very dry.
