stuck near Santiago!
I stopped my nomadic life for a bit, 178 km north of Santiago, and now I'm stuck! Hoping to get bikers/travelers to visit, stop for a drink, camp whatever. Too isolated! I'm overlooking the ocean, great spot, just no people. Anyone who can talk animals/travel/creative life is welcome. (And no, I'm not offering anything else lol!) Email me at lc@lorrainechittock.com and I'll send waypoints or directions.

I should mention I've got a construction project going on now, and visitors are always welcome to help. ;-)

Hi Lorraine,
Wish you'd posted this a month ago :) Oh well, all the best and maybe next time huh? Dunc. |
damn, wish I was still there, seems a cool project!
|
VERY cool project! Though the door won't be ready for a week, all the windows are in so am moving in today, my birthday! Still sanding/varnishing to be done, but I'll do that bit my bit. Apart from living in my van, this is the first time in my life I'll get sunlight all day long! Whoa!

Happy Birthday Lorraine!
Looks like you've put a steak in the ground in Chile! Nice one!! Good luck with the place and we should be able to make it up from Santiago sometime. |
LOL, a steak in the ground? No, a stake. ;-) And only a temporary one. Will probably be living the nomadic lifestyle again within a year. Sedentary life tends to get... sedentary!
Yes, stop on by when you're around! For anyone in the area: S 32.30262 W 71.47334 |
mmm... we're near Mendoza now, and have to get to Santiago anyhow.
Do have to keep ourselves busy for another 4 weeks until we fly out of Buenos Aires. Any work there with which you need help? Could work out, please send me a message if we can arrange something. |
Am getting totally unexpected offers to help with the cabin! While very cool, I'm happy for people to just drop by en route from A to B to hang out on the deck too!

Hi Lorraine,
Did you ever think about applying to a volunteers network? There is a winery hotel here recieving volunteers from all around the world every week. They are quite interesting people happy to help and your landscapes will certainly motivate them for coming down your way... |
Hi Lorraine
I am in Santiago and about to head to La Serena, either tomorrow or Sunday. What is the nearest town to your Palace on the beach? (I don't have Sat Nav) Cheers Delb |
Hi Delbert,
I am not Lorraine. But if you go to maps.google.com and enter the GPS co-ordinates she mentioned above: S 32.30262 W 71.47334 into the search box and zoom in you will see it is several clicks north of La Ligua just off Ruta 5 to the west. Years back I was able to find Lorraine in Costa Rica just from a photo on her blog that showed two palm trees next to a telephone pole north of Samara on the Nicoya penninsula past a rocky promontory. You should have no problems with GPS co-ords and a computer. Lorraine is a delightful person. Kindest regards, John Downs |
Hi All
I have headed north a bit quicker than anticiapated so missed the opportunity to meet Lorraine. Perhaps next time. cheers Delb |
