Those heading to Ushuaia
In Argentina we are having some serious fuel/petrol supplies issues. The newspapers, etc say that this is going to take some days.

Manolito
fuel and route/ urgent
hoi Manolito,
we are in Ushuaia for the moment and will leave tomorrow; How is the situation with the fuel for the moment? On our way to U. we had no big problems, except that we have to wait sometimes quite long. Next question: on our way back we want to go to Porvenier/ Punta Arenas . Is it possible for a GS 1150 and F 650 (medium loaded) to take the roude B8 (pampa guanaco, Cameron, Onaisin, Porvenir) Do you have any suggestions to put our tent in near Rio Grande? hope you can give us some advises, thanks! Hello. The situation is the same, you just have to wait. If you want I can go with you:thumbup1:.
I've used the road from Cerro Sombrero to San Sebastian, but I've never used the one you mentioned, and I don't know if there is a ferry either. But if it is in the same condition that the one I mentioned, you can do it. |

Hi, we are travelling from Santiago to ushuaia and then north. We left ushuaia last week and the situation for us was:
Ushuaia: no problems (one week ago) Tolhuin: no problems (one week ago) Rio grande: no problems (one week ago) San Sebastián: no gasoline (6 days ago) Cerro sombrero (Chile): no problems (6 days ago) Rio gallegos: no gasoline (5 days ago) El calafate: no problems but the people said that the gas will be cero in a few days (4 days ago) Tres lagos: no gasoline (4 days ago) Gobernador gregores: no problems (2 days ago) Perito Moreno: no problems (1 day ago) In the entire chilean carretera austral: NO GASOLINE!!! We are traped in Chile Chico, we were ride the carretera austral before continue north but we will go back to argentina. I hope this can be helpfull. Cheers!!! |
Same problem in the north of Patagonia folks. Came across RN25 in the last couple of days and the only place between Gaiman and Tecka with petrol (diesel seems to be available everywhere) was Los Altares, even then we had to wait for the tanker to turn up in the middle of the night.
Still, I'm having a much easier time than the two Brazillian lads I met there on Fireblades, they said they only got 200km to a full tank. |
Hi Folks,
How is everyone getting along? Is anyone still stuck? Duncan. |
In Rio Gallegos it's still the same. doh
