Tyre prices in Buenos Aires
 

Hi,

I'm in Europe at the moment, leaving for Buenos Aires in a few days.
How much would a set of Metzeler Tourances (21"/17") set me back in Buenos Aires?

Someone told me tyres in South America can be quite expensive – but I don't know if that was referring to Chile or Argentina. If tyres are only a tad more expensive than in Europe, I'd save myself the hazzle of bringing them over.

3 years ago, tyres were half the price of Europe. I dont know now, but i would expect and increase of 50% in Euros, so still less expensive than in Europe by 25%

Was that for European brands? I had a mail from someone saying I could expect around US$250 for an imported tyre in Argentina.

Yep it was for a Michelin Metzeler rear tyre, at that time 300 pesos (75 Euros). Since prices went up 100% and the Euros up 40%, expect to pay a bit more than 100 Euros.

Those european tyres are built in Brazil.
