Tyres cheaper in Peru or Ecuador?
Hi,
I am on my way up to Colombia. I am in Peru now and my dirt-tyres are pretty done. But i think I could make it to Ecuador. Anyone knows if it's cheaper to buy them here or in Ecuador? Or anyone knows how much is the average price for tyres? - as I have no clue at all and I am a gringa and don't wanna be confronted with ridiculous prices :) I got a Suzuki dr200se and I think about buying semi-dirt tyres. Thanks for any Info! Silvia Gesendet von meinem Y635-L21 mit Tapatalk |
Ecuador and Argentina are expensive places to buy parts. We bought tires in Columbia and Chile, but not Peru.

One offer I got was 108usd for front and back dirttire (Pirelli). Is that expensive?

To be serious - dont think you can get em much cheaper than that... |
Colombia prices
In Colombia you'll find Pirelli for your bike for 200.000 Colombian pesos both (front and rear), that is about 70 US.
First city after the border, IPIALES, you'll find lots of shops and would bargain. Ecuador is not big and not tire-wearing. Go Google and look for " precios de llantas en Ipiales " ( Ipiales tire prices). If you come to Medellín, e-mail me. Regards Santiago |

Does anyone have recent experience buying tires in Columbia near the border with Ecuador? Any problems crossing back into Ecuador?
