Tyres In Bolivia?

Anyone know where I can get some tyres in Bolivia? I am guessing La Paz is best?
What stuff is available? I am looking for something road bisaed like Avon Gripsters.

Thanks in advance

i'd probably recommend carrying them in - you must be coming from either peru, chile, argentina or brazil. you'll find something in la paz and possibly in cochabamba though.
prob important to tell the size you want if you'd like accurate info.
cheers,
andy.

Hi Baz,

I'm in La Paz at the moment and there's very little in the way of tyre choice. There's a lot more in Sucre and even more in Santa Cruz.

I haven't got the details with me but if you look for a posting by 'Pockethead' in the recommended repair shops section the shop he refers to stocks tyres as does 'Camel' a few doors down the street. Camel didn't have what I wanted and gave me directions to another shop in Sucre where I bought a 90/90 - 21 Metz Karoo for 345Bs. (about a month ago).

You shouldn't have any trouble finding Pirelli MT60's there.

dunno

if your looking for something super specific you might have problems but I got an Perreli MT 60 for about $100 installed in La Paz as did my friend which isnt too bad and its a reputable tire and place too.... if you go to the Prison in la paz (not sure if its still closed or not) and as your facing away from the entrance..... on the street on the left side as your facing away go straight up that theres a couple motorcycle parts shops..... i dont think they carry them but just down that street make a left one or two blocks down and theres a super fancy way out of place looking motorcycle shop that has all kinds of fancy hondas and even a transalp for sale its a nice glass building.... they have a repair shop and they had the mt60 for 100

just got a pair of MT21's at Nosigliasport, aparantly the only type available on stock as far as i could find that is. got a 18" rear though.

asked what time it would take to order mt40's or 60's : about 30 days.....

damn, should have taken T63's in Lima...

suerte,
sander

From memory Pirelli MT 21 or MT60 are your main choices. Given that only about 10% of Bolivia's roads are paved (something like that anyway!), you're best sticking to dual purpose tyres.

You can get these pretty much most big places in S America. Decent enough tyres too.

Have you tried the Honda place in La Paz? Some locals on big bikes took us to a couple of places, sorry but no idea where they were as we were just following them.
