Tyres in Mexico - any suggestions
Hi all,
I´m in Mexico for the next 6 weeks and need to know if anyone can recommend a company that can sort me out with a back tyre - after blazing through Baja my tyre is bald as a babys bum. For the most part I´m going to be in a town called Guanajuato trying to learn spanish. Thanks for ANY help http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif Brian http://colesyboy.tripod.com |
here is a link with some info
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb...ML/000159.html Unfortunately, none of it is north of Mexico City. Fortunately, you are going to be near Mexico city so an new tyre will only take a couple of days to get to you. My experience is that it is easier to get a tyre for a dealership near Mexico DF that it is to find one *in* DF. Don't ask me why. You will most likely have to wait for tyres to arrive. Note: I have since found that Metzlers in Mexico all come from one supplier and apparently a lot of them, although unused, are not that new. Dunlops and Pirellis are a better bet. Avons ARE avaliable, but the tyres they supply to Mexico are limited and a lot of tyres you might expect to be sold there are not. Oh, its a Honda Africa Twin, and I fink its a 17" tyre. Ummm, any decent manufacturer would be good, front tyre is pirelli scorpion so would be nice to match it.

Cheers Ian,
When you say "dealership" are you referring to a honda dealership, if yes, I´ll give them a call. Thanks for your help! Brian |
