Vehicle importation extension in Ecuador

I wanted to ask if this is possible to get an extension on my moto's stay in Ecuador.

I am in Quito, and not ready to leave once my 90 days are up.

I am told after your 90 days it is not as simple as exiting/re-entering as I did with Colombia for a time extension, as you might not be allowed back in within one calendar year.

The alternative is a penalty fine of 10% of your vehicle's value or confiscation. I guess upon leaving I could just run the border but would probably never be welcome back into the country.

Any information?
