Hi Boris,
Could you please share how have you planned to ship your car to Panama? From Cayenne?
Thank you.

GBY61 18 Jun 2018 12:47

No from Cayenne is to expensive.I'm sending it from Paramaribo/Suriname.The ship drive each friday but the car must be there five day before and it come to Panama after eleven days.

Kino Jeff 19 Jun 2018 17:04

Cost?

Did you ship it? I am curious on cost of shipping? Did you consider Georgetown? Now that Valenzuela is closed I would imagine more riders are interested in shipping moto's back from SA to CA or the US, from the east side?

GBY61 19 Jun 2018 20:22

No I didnt yet but I have pay transport.I'm coming back next week 26.6 and must bring car 3.7 in to the port. The cost all together was 3402 usd. I have try to find from Georgetown but it was the same price however it was bad airline connection to Panama.

Moto

Let me know how your trip goes and the results of your shipping your car.
I would be interested in the costs and your results if I were to ship a moto

So the car is in Panama and I'm very content. You cant drive the car or the bike alone in to the port in Suriname. The agent come out and take you car.The same was in Manzilo port.I have take the car out of the port but before the police and aduana check complet your car with the dog.The cost was 3401.25 USD + 295 USD some tax for shiping from Suriname.People from the company come in Panama to take me in to the hostel, drive me to Colon Mazilo port, make insurance for the car with no extra charge and wait with me until the procedure was completed.

I don’t want to belabor the obvious, but....have you been paying attention to recent reports from Nicaragua and (to a lesser extent) Honduras?

In this moment I'm in Nicaragua and is safe and people are great.

Glad to hear it....which doesn't exactly render my question irrelevant. IMHO, it's worth paying attention to conditions on the road ahead, while bearing in mind that things sometimes change rapidly, and not always for the better.

Safe journeys!

Take a look in the «Central America and Mexico» section, its a long thread about it there. It seems to have calmed down in Nicaragua, road blocks are removed and protesters mostly off the streets - its reported.
