Venezuela - safety concerns?
 

The US State Dept has warning after warning regarding travel in VZ. Does anyone have any recent experience in VZ? I am planning on traveling from the Guyanas to Colombia through VZ.

markharf seems to have posted some well balanced information on the travel conditions in Venezuela. I too will be riding through there shortly and I'm interested to see for myself what the country is like. I know you've been on the road a while too so I'm sure you'll agree that almost without exception security situations are rarely as bad as people make out. I always ignore anecdotal information.
