Travel insurance help
 

Hi everyone

We are one UK citizen and one Italian starting a trip from New Zealand overland back to the UK.

We are finding it very difficult to get travel insurance for the trip because neither of us are currently in our home country.

Has anyone encountered the same issues, and if so would you be able to recommend an insurer who can cover us for a trip which isn't starting from our home countries (and indeed we have already left our home countries)

They only seem to do US residents travelling outside the US. Anyone recommend anything for UK residents going to the US (and riding bikes) ?

A friend gets his from Carole Nash but the usual caviats apply about asking questions and reading small print.

I have cover from MAPFRE (UK passport, not resident in the UK) - no idea whether they operate in the UK but they do have good cover.

By way of update ALL nationalities can apply for cover both for US and global travel
