vaccinations and tablets
I am planning a 3 month trip to india with 9 and 12 year old children. The cost and logistics of all the recommended vaccinations is phenominal for a family. Are there any vaccinations that can be done on arrival, and are most malaria tablets available for purchase over the counter in india?
Any advice as to how to find this out or suggestions appreciated |
The problem with the Malaria tablets is that you need to start the course of treatment a couple of weeks (three I think?) prior to entering the area where the risk of contracting the desease is.
Some of the innoculations you will need, Hepatitas B, for example, require a course of injections followed by a blood test to see if the innoculations have protected the body against infection. Personally if I were travelling with children of the ages you are I would get it sorted here before you go. |
