Burkina Visa available at the border?
 

Hi,

I read somewhere in the net that the Burkina Visa is available at the Border for 10.000 CFA.

Can somebody confirm?

We intend to enter (and exit) from / to Mali on German Passports and want to avoid the trip to Bamako to get the visa. Alternatively we have to look for it in Germany.

Yes...in February of 2007, I obtained one at the border...I believe it lasts 10 days...and then you have to go to the immigration office to extend it. I don't believe the extension costs anything.

The Burkina visa is still available at the border with Mali (as of June 08), however I was only given 7 days, rather than 10 days.

It is also one of the most hassle free borders I have crossed in West Africa. Immigration and customs were incredibly polite.

Two years ago (july 2006) I got one at the border comming from Sikasso, going to Bobo Dioulasso, and a few months ago (june 2008) I got one at the border comming from Koro, going to Ouahigouya. Both of the times it was valid for 7 days and totally hassle free.
