Cameroon-CAR-Sudan?
 

Hello all,
I am in North Africa atm and I am planning to work my way south as far as Cameroon, afterwhich I would like to cross into CAR and then to Sudan.

Does anyone know if the CAR-Sudan border is open or not to foreigners and their vehicle?

I am travelling in a MAN Motorhome.

Failing that, I would like to cross into the Congo and load onto a barge and sail down the river into DR Congo to Kinshasa. Any latest info on this?

That sounds like an interesting route. I must admit that I have not heard of many people doing the CAR / Sudan route in years.

I like the sound of it though.

Friends in an Iveco truck spent 3 weeks on the Congo river in 2005. They enjoyed the experience however it did not get them as far as they imagined it would - plus only about a week was spent actually moving.
