Cameroon Visa

Hi, Newbie question.
In Ghana, want to avoid Nigeria but need to get a Cameroon visa (Brit & Italian citizens)
Heard I may have problems.
Any suggestions?
If not, has anyone heard of a boat south that takes passengers and a motorhome?

last time we got visa's at the border entering from Nigeria (Calabar):
maybe because the immigration official died 6 months ago and the caretaker knew where the stamps where located ,
