Cape Town to Kenya August 24
I left my Ktm 1090 in Cape Town and will be returning in August to continue my ride to Kenya,
any sage advice? GPS routes, maps, ext ect Smiles Jeff |
A wide open question, to which one could write a book... Come to think of it, maybe the simplest answer is to direct you to the blog for our longest trip in Africa at Un “ocho” en Africa / An “eight” in Africa which may give you some ideas. The trip was from Nairobi to Cape Town and back, and depending on the route you take you'll find posts which may be relevant.
Tracks4Africa is your starting point for GPS. We also use pdf maps from ITMB. |
Simple is good
I don't need a dissertation on anything but general information on routes and highlights, plus any border issues
I just normally get a general idea, and as I travel I fill in the blanks, Smiles Jeff |
I've done a chunk of that route (Joburg up through most of Mozambique). Super easy in ZA, eSwatini is gorgeous and fun. Mozambique is fascinating, but whatever you do, do not leave the official national routes unless you are prepared for very remote bush tracks (missing bridges, mud pits a meter deep, and no cell coverage for very long distances).
