Conditions for long-term bike storage in Senegal or Gambia
While planning a trip to West Africa for next year, possibility of storing two bikes in the area for later travelling popped up.
Is anyone aware of special legal conditions that should be observed when leaving a bike in Senegal or Gambia for several months? - maximum duration? - issues when leaving the country without the bike one used to enter? - is the TIP easily extendable upon returning? or would a new one be issued? - whatever taxes? - any other pertinent point(s)? A friend lives in the area so the storage spot itself is not the issue, "just" the legal aspects. Thanks! |
Peter at Sakuta Camping in Banjul can advise you on this (as he did me).

Thank you for the good tip Simon, already got a straightforward reply from Peters.

You are welcome. In my experience, The Gambia is a lot easier than Senegal in that respect.
