Congo-Brazzaville - letter of invitation needed?
We managed to get our visa for Congo Rep. (Brazzaville) in Windhoek (20 days, took 24h, no invitation letter or any other serious document needed).
We wonder if - when we arrive in Brazzaville by ferry - we do need such letter of invitation, or that we won´t have any trouble getting into the country since we already have our visa (I especially want to know this because I did not need a loi for my Angola visa, but at the border they did require one...). Any help is much appreciated! |
There is no reason to not let you in if you have your visa.
But... I was asked for it by immigration guy when landing in Brazza two months ago. I have said 'I don't have it' and he have said 'I should have one'. Then he put a stamp and it was it. If you are worried you can always print yourself an invitation letter. |
"They told me at the embassy it was included as part of the visa."
Said with a suitably friendly smile and then immediately ask a question of them to distract "Can you recommend a safe hotel for the night?" etc Wasn't a problem coming from the north, the visa only took 10 minutes and no mention of anything like that etc. Congo was really nice, enjoy! |
I did the same last year: got my visa in Windhoek, entered in Brazzaville (Beach) without any problem.
Enjoy the ride from Kin! |
To answer my own question: I did not need an invitation letter when I entered Rep. Congo (Luozi route). No troubles at all.
