Dar es Salaam m/c shop ?
hello fellow travellers,
we made it to Dar yesterday, but we had a few fall offs in the north of mozambique. does anybody know of a good mc shop, where I can work on my Tenere to fix a few things and to do a service on both bikes (a DR350 and my old tenere) ????? thanks mika ------------------ |
Tuk Tuk motorcycles. I posted details about them on this site last year so you can search for their phone number etc.
they're near a big mosque in the centre of town and the top dude is a good guy. can you let me know their current email address please as I want to pre-order some MT21 tyres for December. thanks. |
Hey Mika,
Were you succesful with your bike repairs? I know a couple places in dar if you still need someplace to work at. Just drop me an email. Also, where are you headed these days? I'm headed north to Cairo in few weeks and would appreciate any updates if have any. Brian |
hello,
yeah, fixed the bike about a month ago in dar, thanks for the answers. but since dar we have done nearly 5000kms thru kenya, uganda, ruanda, burundi and the west of tanzania. we are in mbeya and leaving in a few days down to malawi. sorry, cant give you any infos for the way up to Cairo. I guess since I traveled in Egypt in 10/2000 many things have changed. enjoy riding mika and damaris ------------------ |
Rich,
Can you please post the address or GPS co-ords for Tuk Tuk in Dar. I have searched hundreds of your previous posts and googled Tuk-Tuk, but with no luck as to the address. Everyone seems to know about them, but no-one seems to know their address. cheers |
hi matt,
I did not go to Tuk Tuk, but everybody I talked to in Dar recommended the place. Contact the HU Community in Dar, there is a guy called Steve, he knows the address. good luck mika (recovering after surgery in Europe, but next week back to Congo ...) ------------------ |
A funny coincidence occured after I made my post. I walked out of the internet cafe and saw Tuk-Tuk just across the road.
For future reference, they are on the corner of Mosque and Mshihiri streets, about two small blocks from the Jambo Inn walking towards the Indian Ocean. Now...if only they are able to get me some Michelin Deserts! cheers Matt Roach [This message has been edited by Matt Roach (edited 09 March 2005).] |
