DRC relaxing visa restrictions?
I've heard that DRC is relaxing their restrictions and letting people through at Kinshasa with visas issued outside of their home countries. This would be good news for me because Luozi could be pretty gnarly this time of year.
The staff at Hippocampe in Brazza confirms this rumor, but they don't have firsthand knowledge of anyone who's actually crossed with a foreign-issued visa. Can anyone confirm this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Fingers crossed. I'll be entering via Uganda, hoping the visa is easy to get in Entebbe!

I went to "le beach" to ask if I'd be let through on the other side. I was expecting chaos but it's a pretty nice and calm port. The head honcho said a Malian had been turned away the week before for not having a home-country issued visa. But he said if I returned on a weekday he would call his counterpart on the DRC side to ask. So before going across, definitely get confirmation first. Just tell them the situation and they'll let you through the big metal entrance gate. Immigration is the first building to the left. Walk into the building and you'll see a room up a flight of stairs; that's where the boss is. I never returned because I did the Luozi crossing instead.
