ETHIOPIA Border UpDate
 

Hi all,

Last week we crossed the Sudan/Ethiopia border at Metema, and here are the facts:

1. Don't waste your time getting a letter/warranty from your embassy.
NO LETTER NEED (confirmed and reconfirmed with the local custom)

2. Don't waste your money with any "fixer"
The process is easy and fast. The Ethiopian' officers speaks english and are helpful.

3. What you need:
-> A valid Visa
-> A valid Carne de Passage en Douane (CPD)

-> No insurance is required
-> No tax or fees are required

Last tip: plan you day to not have to sleep at Metema. It's horrible!
