Ethiopia Visa in Harare: $100 for 1 year
 

For those heading north on the east coast it is worth noting that the Ethiopia embassy in Harare issued me with a 1 year multiple entry visa for $100, and you can pick the day it starts(ie; in 4 months time it starts), so I now have until the middle of 2012 to get through Ethiopia which avoids having to dhl back to Europe etc etc.

Needed:
$100 for 1 year
1 photo
copy of front page of Carnet
a date when you want it to start
was available at 3pm the same day or 10am the next
(quite friendly service, you can pay less for only 6 months etc)

Location:
Harare, on the road north west to Kariba, look for the sign to the Swiss embassy in the area with loads of embassies. When you see the shiny new Swiss embassy, look to the other side of the road at a run down house and that is it. ;-)
