Ethiopian Visa
 

Hi
can any one give me up to date information as to the availability of the Ethiopian visa in Harare. All the information I have seen recently is quite old.
I would advise that I have recently tried the embassy in Pretoria and was told that as I was not resident I could not get the visa.

I don't know about Harare, but do know that it is impossible to get a visa for Ethiopia as a non-resident in Nairobi. I had to DHL one of my my passport to Holland to get it, and expect to get it back tomorrow.

Visas for Ethiopia, Djibouti & Yemen
 

Hi,

I´m planing to ship my bike to Ethiopia and from there make my way through Djibouti to Yemen/Oman or Iran and then further to Turkey. It´ll be somwehre between this Nov and Jan 2015

As per now I don´t have any visa. I have read that I could get the Ethripian visa upon arrival in Addis. Is that right? Any idea if I could get the remaining visas there too? (not the Iranian one though).

Apart from that does anybody know a shipping company that could send my bike from Spain to Ethiopia and ferries from Djibouti to Yemen or Oman?

I would appreciate any info you might have. If anybody will happen to be around just give me a shout. It´ll be great to meet up.

Ethiopian visa in Addis
 

Hi Masha,

I met a German overlander in Addis a couple of weeks ago, who flew to Addis and got his visa at the airport. No problem.

Hi all,
I can now confirm that it is not possible to get the Ethiopian visa in Harare. I could not even get to speak to the Consul.
Looks like postal, although does anyone have any information on getting Temporary Residence in Kenya?

I've traveled through Addis several times, and although the process of getting a visa at the airport is tedious, it's not hard.

Does this problem of acquiring an Ethiopia visa in Nairobi apply to ALL nationalities that reside outside the Country.
I haven't yet heard of any over-lander's bearing ZAR/Zimbabwe/Botswana etc passports experiencing issues.
