Ethiopian Visa in Cairo or Khartoum
 
The Ethiopian Embassy in Canada is not issuing visas if you wish to enter Ethiopia via land, a copy of your airline ticket is required when applying for a visa. Has anyone tried to get a visa in Cairo or Khartoum recently?

In 2012 (I know it's not recent) I got one in Khartoum. Fill in the forms 2 photos and issued in 48hrs I think. Valid 60 Days. Good embassy staff but terrible queues. Cheers.

In Cairo they told me to get my visa in Khartoum. It was easy to get in Khartoum, had my visa in less than 2 hours from when I started filling out the forms. They have someone there to photocopy your documents and take pictures as well if you don't have extras.

I wonder if one could do it the south-to/north route ... as in in Kenya, or any other place along the way that is not too far.

anyone with experiences recently going north?
