Ferry crossing
 

With the latest news that we have to enter Senegal through Rosso due to the visa can anyone advise if I am going to be ripped off with regard to the ferry crossing. I have read all the posts about the bribes at this post and so am trying to get prepared. The problem is that I am driving a 14 ton vehicle which I know it can take, but can anyone give me a guide price for the crossing so I can argue if necessary.

In April this year, with our 16 tonne mercedes overland truck, we had to pay 6,000CFA for the ferry (just under 10 Euros)

I simply do not know if this is the price or not, but it took a while to get it for that much. I don't imagine locals pay that much, but who knows!

Good luck, and don't loose your temper with them it will make matters worse (as I have found out)!
