Slightly depends on where you got your DRC visa. Was it granted in your home country?

any suggestions?

If you going to cross the border of DRC and Angola at Songololo or Matadi - don't go straight to N'Zeto. This path looks shortest and doesn't differs from another roads on a map at first glance but in fact it is quite hardcore (I can tell that it is even harder than Louzi cross between Congos). Go to Mbanza-Congo instead, it is gravel but prepared for future pavement.

thank you!!!:thumbup1::thumbup1::thumbup1:
then the best route , starting from Gabon: - Dolisie -Luozi - Matadi - Mbanza - N'zeto or...... |

After N'Zeto to Louanda is a pretty european autobahn. What a relief. |

which way you made from Dolisie to Louzi? |
Never been in Dolisie :) I approached Brazzaville from Ouesso side.

Am I right to conclude that best route from Kinshasa to Luanda is through Songololo, Luvo, Mbanza Congo and Nzeto?

I will drive the other direction this month, using Luozi ferry. How many days should I count for Kimpese to Boko? Is routefinding difficult?
|
I just drove from Luanda to Gabon in a HJ60 Land Cruiser. You definitely should cross at Luvo, not Matadi. Good tar all the way from Luanda. After Luozi you have different options. I drove more or less along tbe river to Manianga, than to Loumo. Did not pass through Boko, because road to Loumo is better. You will get first tar at Louangi. Most difficult parts around the border: steep and deep gullies because of the rain (but now dry!). Piste from Dolisie to Ndende is dusty, but not too bad

I 'm studying your directions on the map !!!!! |
Finding the way is not really an issue in dry season, if you are by car 2days should ok...by motorbike its tough but also feasible, drive is very slow.
From kimpese to the river you can manage in few hours, ferry i think runs until 16.00 (get there early, it can be fully ''booked), in Luozi you can find restaurants and hotels (we camped at the local church). Leaving early in the morning you can get at Boko in mid afternoon! there last year...very nice route, wonderful time in boko! |
thanks stefano!
