July trip preparation Luanda Barcelona

Hi there,

Been in Luanda for a few months for UNICEF work. I'll be going back most likely in July, maybe August. Have my 2015 Tiger xcx with me and would like to ride up.

This would not be a slow transfer unfortunately, I have about 30-35 days to make it to Barcelona or let's say Tangiers for this thread's purposes...:cool4:

I would have to cross DRC, Rep Congo, Gabon, Cameroon, Nigeria, Benin, Burkina, Mali, then Senegal or Niger before getting into Mauritania and Morocco.

I have many questions regarding the road conditions (would like to stay mostly on tarmac if possible) and the wet season (I've heard horror stories about Cameroon and Benin for example), so I was wondering if any of you could give me some tips.

Best,

Manuel

I am planning to drive from Luanda to Yaounde in june. I think visa will be the main issue. Gabon and Nigeria possible in Kinshasa, I think. Cameroon in Brazza. For DRC you need residence in Angola. Did you already locate Congo Brazzavile embassy in Luanda?

i was actually going to get all my visas here in Luanda if possible, haven't looked at embassies yet but will get on that next week. do you think it's feasible to get to Tangiers in 4 weeks? Rainy season and all?

Yes should be possible in four weeks. Rain won't be a problem because if sealed roads in West-Africa. In Gabon an Congo it will be dry season around july, I think. Let me know when you find Congo Brazzaville embassy in Luanda. It changed adress, but I did not find the new one yet.

Spoke to the Consul today, the new offices are located in the first floor of the Zimbo Tower, Avenida do Portugal on the corner with Rua dos Enganos (don't ask for the number of the street, no use here... :) ) 50 USD, 3 days to get Visto de Transito, 1 picture and a copy of the passport. You leave the passport and then pick it up. If you need I also have the contact of the person.

Thank you.

Hello Dedalaus, how the preparations are going? I drive from Angola to Cameroon, starting next week. Hope to get Brazzaville visa in Luanda. (Got DRC easy in Brussels)
