Kankan to Bougouni border crossing
 

Greetings all,

Does anyone have any recent experience of the Kankan (Guinea) to Bougouni (Mali) border crossing via Mandiana/Badogo/Yanfolila?

Any info/comments/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

we traveled via Kouremale heading South in Jan 2011
with Irish reg Land Rover Disco
it was not easy border crossing ,they found it hard to believe we were just visitors to Guinea
Guinea customs wanted to charge us for escort for one week to get to Sierra L border
we refused and started to head back to Mali at which stage military backed down and accepted 50 euro for transit visa and L. Pass for the Land Rover

Thanks for the reply.

Not too many responses so far. The Kankan to Bougouni crosing must not be popular with overland travellers.
