Kenya into Uganda / Rwanda or Madagascar?

Hi all.

Am mulling Christmas options, travelling independently but not in my own vehicle :( - have been to Kenya and then into Tanzania and Zambia (and all of N Africa plus Botswana and Namibia) before, but am now debating between heading into Nairobi and spending a month doing a circular route into Uganda and Rwanda and maybe Burundi, or a month in Madagascar instead and wondered if anyone on this forum had done both / had any thoughts?

Cheers

Mark

I have not been to Madagascar but a friend was there with the Peace Corps and said there is not much left of the original flora and fauna, from what they told me you are better off with East Africa.

I'm sure a month loop through E. Africa would be great. Note the border between Burundi and Rwanda is closed. Frequently there is news that it is going to open, but it just doesn't seem to quite happen. Some have successfully talked their way through, just a heads up.

We were in Kenya - Uganda - Rwanda - Tanzania from January to May, it is great.

Why not settle in for the evening and read Tiffany's account?

Thanks to all of you for this. I certainly will read Tiffany's account, but from what I've been reading elsewhere now would not be a good time of year to go to Madagascar so I will leave that for a few months. I've got plenty of annual leave to use up anyway!
But you have now set me wondering about the feasibility of doing an open jaw return ie into Kenya and then out again from Tanzania, esp if getting into Burundi is easier from there. Or maybe even straight into Kampala as I've been to Kenya before.
For 2 pins I'd go back to Namibia.....had a lovely 3 and a bit weeks there in June.
