Kidnappings in northern Nigeria and Cameroon
 

There's been a spate of kidnappings performed by the new Nigerian outfit named Ansaru that bears strong connections to Mohktar Bekmohktar and Aqim in Mali.
They use the same mediator (Ould Shafi) and media outlet (in Nouakchott).
First they took 7 workers in Jama'are east of Kano Feb 16 and then a French family with four kids across the Cameroonian border in Sabongari Feb 19.

edit: Now Boko Haram took responsibility for kidnapping the French family, demanding liberation of several prisoners in exchange for their freedom, or they will cut their throats
