Length of vehicle stay: Southern & East Africa
I'm potentially looking to move to a country where I can't import my Landy, so wondering to turn a negative into a plus by leaving it in Southern & East Africa and having a 1-4 month holiday each year visiting it and driving around.
This raises the question of which countries allow it to be stored long term etc? I understand: Kenya, able to leave for multiple years, renew carnet remotely each year?? Namibia, for Carnet validity up to 1 year?? Could others please confirm what they know around this for different countries please? |

My mate and I temporarily imported our Motos into Namibia last week for 12 months with possibilities of a 6 month extension.
Neither bike has a carnet. The import duty was 16% of valuation repayable on departure. We used these excellent agents (located at Windhoek railroad station. Whole process takes less than 24 hours. Attachment 22038 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
