Looking to buy a new bike in SA and ride it to Morroco
 

Hi guys!

I am planning to arrive in SA in early April this year and purchase a bike and start my overland trip to Morocco.

My question is that would the bike dealer or owner accept online transfer or do I really have to bring a bunch of cash with me in order to buy a bike? I have a Bank of America debit card and a Chinese bank debit card. I wonder if they would accept any sorts of online transfer at all.

Any tips would be great !!

If the cash is there the dealer will had over the bike. No need to order it weeks before. Search the HUBB: There are several threads on how to register a vehicle in South Africa on your name. That will be the bigger problem than buying a bike....

Join ‘Wilddogs’ forum in SA, you may be able to get help there. I bought a bike sight unseen from an advert there. Did have someone physically check the bike and transferred the money via normal quick process. Hope that helps.

You need a traffic register in south Africa to purchase a vehicle and have it registered in your name- need a valid passport and proof residence- which you get from land lord- Im her ein Cape Town if you need a hand
