Maps, South Africa, north of Jo'Burg...
Anyone recommend any decent maps for the triangle from Jo'Burg to the Mozambique border, down to Durban and back to Jo'Burg... including the area al in between.
Be grateful for any recommendations... Jeremy |
paper or GPS?
GPS: download OpenStreetMaps, for free for your Garmin. Or buy Tracks 4 Africa, for sale all over South Africa Paper: any big bookshop will sell some in S-Africa. |
Cheers, thanks...

paper maps available for sub-saharan africa?
travelling by motorbike and space and weight matters...
are good paper maps available when you need them (meaning before you get to the capital) for all places, or do you experienced african travellers recommend getting decent scale maps (1:1,000,000) for all your route before you leave europe or the US? ITM maps? is there a better brand in general? I'll get the T4A maps for my GPS but for route planning paper is better. Thanks! |
Might be a bit late for you but T4a now have paper maps of Za etc. They are good for planning but rather large to use while travelling. They contain all the details of the gps maps including travel times.
