Moyale-Isiolo through Wajir
 

Has anyone ever tried Moyale-Isiolo through Wajir? How is the road: Safe, condition, wet season, etc.?

I spoke to brother on this, who has done a lot of mission work up in that area.
He has been through that way and reckons it's a lot safer than people like to make out-the days of the shufta are gone.

The trucks use this as their alternate route when the the Marsabit road is too wet.

I took this road (second half on a truck after falling off) about 6 weeks ago, just after the Marsabit killings. The road is very poor - sand, corrugations, mud if its raining etc etc - until Garissa where iit's tarmac to Nairobi. But prob no worse than Marsabit road - just longer. Stayed in Buna, Wajir, Habaswein and Garissa. All very friendly. See Chief Osman in Buna for accomodation. I saw no bandits! That doesn't mean there aren't any...
