Portugal en route to Africa
For those of you heading off/finishing a long Africa trip, or those having a shake down trip before a larger one, please feel free to call in to my place in Portugal just south of Lisbon if your passing by.
Plenty of room to camp for bikes/4x4's (not trucks sorry) in a safe place and there is a good basic mechanic 50 metres away ;-) If you appear vaguely domesticated I might even allow you in the house ;-p Offered in the spirit of the kind hospitality I've always received on the road, happy to share my almost 5 years of African overlanding experience with you over a few meals etc. I drive a Landy and completed a 3 year west coast/east coast trip. |
info about Africa
hi! im planning an African trip by 2019 at the latest and can use all the info I can get.
I live in the U.S. and plan to purchase a motorcycle in Spain which I will take into Africa. Do you happen to know how easy, or not, is it for a foreigner to buy a motrocycle in either Portugal or Spain? how long ago did you travel across Africa? I plan to travel at least one year, plus or minus a few months and want to visit as many countries as I can visit. Any info about this and other topics would be greatly appreciated! thank you Keko |
Will gladly do, next time. bier
Another trip I found a Land Cruiser doctor in your neck of the woods https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Qt...=w1110-h832-no Keko, try asking this guy he is near Lissabon and he will have a bike for you ;) https://www.facebook.com/Lisbon-Daka...7744780941830/ |
You've come to the right place Keko, happy researching on this great source of information.
I'd suggest the best way forward for you is to spend a few days reading all of the old posts on here, then start some threads of your own to track down the info and advice your after. The only advice I can give is don't plan to buy a bike in Portugal, anything with a motor here is extremely expensive! |
