rains Ethiopia/Sudan (Gallabat area)

I am heading down from The Sudan to Ethiopia(gallabat border) at the end of May or maybee june in a truck, just wondering if anyone knows when this area becomes impassable due to rains. As I have been through here in the dry and saw loads of black cotton soil.

Hi, the road is new now, only dodgy bit is just outside Gaderif, after that its all new graded laterite, chews tyres mind. They are builing lots of rain culverts as well, I was there December 2002 and its quite a nice road compared to Moyale/Isiolo
