Inyang,
Thank you so much for that information I really appreciate it. Finding anybody who has up to date details of the road condition between the Guinea-Cote D'Ivoire border is really difficult, your account is very useful. To the moderaters: could Inyangs last post be moved to the following post, as it is much more relevant to that thread: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...e-guinea-48745 Thanks again Inyang, I sure appreciate the information. :thumbup1: |
Wow, that is a rapid improvement in the Ekok / Mamfe road in such a short time.
Does that mean the first 30kms of the road after the Nigerian border post have now been graded as well? When I passed through in Feb, the first 30kms up to the first town was still very rough, but the section from there to Mamfe had been graded into a decent piste. |
Yep graded all the way from Ekok when I was there. But who knows, with some wet weather and lack of maintenance, maybe it will return to it's old state?
This morning leaving Libreville in the direction of Dolisie, don't think I'll be so lucky twice.... |
Hi Ian!
Can't wait to hear more about the next leg - getting a bit worried about running 3 weeks late and getting more rain & mud than I originally bargained on. If all goes according to new planning, I should pass through Ekok-Mamfe section in, hopefully, less than 2 weeks' time & will post an update in this thread. It is raining quite often in Togo now and the gravel/dirt roads go to pieces in very little time... Safe riding, mate! Kobus |

Thanks, Ian! I saw it and agree with what you said about weather at the time as opposed to past experiences. Even the here in Togo the roads change as the weather does. I'll follow the other thread.
