Senegal visa in Rabat
Is it possible to get Senegal visa in Rabat. If so, where?
|
I assume you are Slovenian and have an EU passport?
If so, on an EU passport there is no need to get a visa in advance for Senegal and you can easily get one on the border with Mauritania (assuming you are coming via the Atlantic route) cheers |

I got the same info when I called up the Senegalese embassy in London last week:
Visa and Passport They said it is going to take at least 6 weeks! When I asked if it is the same in Rabat, they said YES. I carry an Estonian "pre-EU" passport - so I am getting a bit worried that the London-Dakar might turn into London-Bamako instead. Has anyone from the eastern EU bloc had experience recently on the Senegalese border or getting the visa from Rabat. Would be very interested. Is this where a "present" may do the thing on the border? |
Interesting - I thought the exemption was for all EU countries, so thank you for pointing that out.
If Rabat takes so long, try Nouakchott. I got one there in 24 hours (on Australian passport) in early 2008, so I suspect it should be relatively similar for the EU countries that don't automatically qualify for the exemption. cheers |
Try France Ambassy. In Poland I can get Senegal visa for few hours in France Ambassy in Warsaw. Maybe this work for all EU citizens.

6 weeks for Senegalese visa is wrong info
There is a lot of confusion with this issue, partly because the official information is confusing, misleading, etc.
The easiest way to obtain Senegalese visa is to enroll online: http://www.visasenegal.sn/en/ Ignore the "6-week" thing. You will be requested to pay online. Do so. You will get a ... a PDF file, which you'll have to print out. From this point on, the rest is routine. You just need a Senegalese facility equipped with a fancy device that takes your photo and two fingerprint scans at a time. So, if there is a Senegalese embassy in the neighbourhood, visit it with 2 passport photos and the aforementioned printout. I've got my visa in Berlin in about half an hour. Plus waiting for the embassy clerks, who were late - another 20 minutes. The embassy employees are anything but punctual, they pick the phone only if they feel like it, but otherwise they are friendly, easy-going chaps to my impression. |
Shame
No free visas for EU citizens anymore...its a real shame...it total feels like Africa does not want Tourists anymore
