Sudan-Chad border
Anyone who passed/will pass Sudan-Chad border nowadays? Any trouble because of Darfur difficulty? Or any advice for a route from East (from Sudan) to West?

both Sudan and Tchad told us this area is closed. I didn't meet anyone thinking of trying to sneak through.
we flew from Addis Abeba to Ndjamena. $500 per person and $600 per bike. |
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I'll be with my car. It seems that to change the route is the only way. Anyone knows about Central African Republic route to West?

elsewhere on this forum, some medics went from tchad, through CAR into southern sudan and then uganda ... sounded hairy to me. none of those countries is peaceful. going west, you need to persuade a french embassy eg kampala to give you a visa for CAR before you go into southern sudan.

Thanks for your kind attention.
I try to reach French Embassy in Khartum to ask if it is possible to get visa there, since I'm not planning to go to Uganda. However, if it is impossible, then I go down further. Where are you at the moment? |
I'm back in England :-)
I read that you can request a CAR visa in french embassies such as Nairobi, Kampala, Addis if you don't want to go all the way to Khartoum |
My route was ...-Egypt-Sudan-Chad-... to East. So I'll be in Khartoum anyway. I first check the situtation in CAR and try to get visa in Khartoum if it is OK.
Thanks for your help. Ali |
