Sudan - Chad - Nigeria - Benin - Burkina
I'm looking at doing the above route but have a number of questions ;)
1. Can I get across Sudan to the Chad border? 2. Is Chad vaguely safe to cross quickly to Nigeria? Route descriptions or blog links welcomed...! 3. Where can I get visa's for Chad & Nigeria in Ethiopia or Sudan? Or even Juba? Prefer not to visit N'Djamena if possible for the Nigerian one. 4. The Chad/Nigerian border is not possible to cross as it is Lake Chad? so can I transit through Cameroon without a visa for one day? Else, where can I get the Cameroon visa? 5. Assume Abuja will give me visa's for Benin, Burkina & Mali, maybe even Mori! Many thanks.... |
1. I think so, as long as you get permit from Khartoum
2. No problem. Drove from Abeche to Ndjamena in two days last year 3. Do not know. But Ndjamena is okay. 4. Yes, you can get transit at borders in the north 5. Why not |
Only a minor hijack: Any idea how long Cameroonian transit visas are valid for, gvdaa? Thanks!

48 hours, I think

Did you get across to the west?
Hey I am trying to get to the west as well and was wondering if you managed to get into Chad from Sudan. Please let me know what route you did or if you still want to do the route Im in Addis trying to plan and happy to join you.
